Olson Software Releases Exciting New Help Authoring Tool

Palmerston North, New Zealand, March 31, 2006 -- Olson Software Ltd is very excited to announce the release of the HyperText Studio 5.0 authoring tool. The HyperText Studio is a WYSIWYG tool for creating Web Sites, Microsoft HTML Help files, WinHelp files, browser-based help and Print documentation. Different editions are available depending on your requirements, while the Team Edition allows multiple users to work together on a single web site or help file.

Seamless RoboHelp import

WYSIWYG expanding regions

Many website and help files now include areas of a page that expand when you click a link. Creating these expanding regions has been very difficult and required knowledge of scripting. However, in HyperText Studio 5.0 this all changes. Our new expanding regions feature gives you totally WYSIWYG editing of these regions, meaning no more guesswork about how your page is going to look.

New Glossary topic

Adding a new glossary topic to your tree can save hours of time! A glossary topic will automatically create a glossary based on all children of the glossary topic, meaning you never have to update your glossaries again.  In the Hypertext Studio glossary entries can include pictures and tables!

Predictive linking

Creating links is a whole lot easier with the Hypertext Studio's new predictive linking feature. When you create a link the Hypertext Studio will try to find any topics with the same name as the selected text. If one is found it is selected for you, saving even more time. If the selected topic has a window associated it will automatically be selected. If the selected text is an Internet link then the Internet link page is displayed with your content as the URL.

Topic status

Each topic now has a status property, making it easy for you to see what still needs to be done.  The status of all topics can be viewed from the improved topics list and multiple topics can have their status changed in the topics list.  Topics in topics list can now be sorted by title, filename and status.  This makes it very easy to view the status of your topics and which topics still have work to be done, once again, saving development time.

Enhanced browser based help

Browser-based help is now very common.  HyperText Studio 5.0 improves its browser-based help output (BrowserHelp) with more advanced functionality such as popup menus and an improved look and feel.

The HyperText Studio is now available from Olson Software. The Web Edition, for creating websites, is just $49.95US.  The Help Edition, for creating WinHelp and HTML Help files is available at just $199US.  The Professional Edition, for creating websites help files, browser-based help and print documentation is available at just $349US.  The Team Edition costs $499US per user.
